Finding a well-balanced Japanese cuisine can be quite difficult. It either tastes good, but quite expensive; or tastes bad, but cheap. Sometimes, you’ll find a gem of a restaurant that offers inexpensive, but exceptionally good-tasting foods. Mr. Ninja shapes up to be one of those. Located in Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall, on 2nd floor of the older mall where there’s a long line of restaurants and food stalls to choose from, you may have missed it or just passed it by.

I ordered the pork belly with rice. With the price of 69 pesos for a meal, I am impressed that it tasted good. It's quite bitin because it's only a thin strip of pork belly. But hey, that's what you get for a 69 pesos budget. The price is just right. Would I come back here? Yes, I'd rather eat here than the usual fast food chain, for a change.

Mr. Ninja is a relatively inexpensive Japanese-themed restaurant located in Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall. My father insisted I try it. I had the porksteak meal with teppan rice and fried egg, and set my expectations a few notches lower. The meat was slightly salty, and a bit fatty for pork steak. Teppan rice was okay, nothing special. But for less than P100 it's decent, and I think it will be popular among students and office workers on a budget.
