I went to Murrays In A Hurry and had a really bad experience with an employee named Barbara. When I walked in, I overheard her complaining about not being paid enough, which already felt unprofessional. I placed my order for takeout and waited, but while I was waiting, I saw her give way better service to another group that came in after me. She helped them get comfortable, brought them chairs, made sure they were welcomed, and even served them multiple meals before even acknowledging me. When she finally came to me, her whole attitude changed. She went from being friendly and smiling with them to cold and straight-faced with me and just said, “what do you want?” I told her I had already placed an order, but she seemed rushed and didn’t listen. She went to the kitchen, brought food to the counter, and asked me to pay again for something I had already paid for. Once she realized I had already paid, she didn’t apologize or say anything—she just left the food on the counter and walked away. I didn’t get a receipt from the previous employee, so I politely asked her for one, and she refused to give me a receipt at all, which is unacceptable since I paid for my order and should be able to get proof of purchase. The whole time I stayed calm, but she acted annoyed and frustrated. The entire experience felt disrespectful and uncomfortable. It honestly felt like she only puts in effort when she expects a tip from dine-in customers. If she gets tipped for dine-in, she’ll be a really nice employee toward white people. I came in just trying to get my food and ended up feeling disrespected. This kind of behavior is not okay, and customers should be treated equally. Just because I ordered takeout does not justify being treated this way. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Recommended dishes: Tandoori Sandwich
