We went for the Japanese izakaya dinner, and it was just a sad experience. There are two different size menus but if you're two people you are forced to order the same size. Overall bad service that kept us on edge. We thought the food will save the day, but it was bland and frankly overpriced. The idea of vegetarian izakaya is nice - please improve.. We visited the Pop-Up Summer Izakaya at Mygel (26 June–28 July) and were excited to try it. I started with a Yuzu Vodka Sour (120 kr) and a Samurai Rock (120 kr), while my husband had the Kombucha, Gaëlle (48 kr). All drinks were refreshing. For food, we had Pickles (100 kr), Aubergine (95 kr), and Kaki-age (110 kr) to start. Delicious and felt very authentic. The Cold Udon (130 kr) with egg (+40 kr) was also tasty, but we wished there was a warm option and maybe some meat choices too. I finished with the Baba à l’Umeshu (120 kr), which was a unique and enjoyable dessert. While everything tasted great and reminded us of Japan, the portions were small for the price, and one staff member was noticeably unfriendly, which made the experience less pleasant.
