I don’t quite understand many of the negative reviews for Ergon if our experience was typical. We had a late lunch here, the salads and the burgers were great. The drinks were good. Of course it was expensive - we’re in an airport, that’s just how it is - but not aggressively so. What we particularly liked was the service. The lady who greeted us was lovely. The guy who took our order was funny. The lady who brought us our food was very nice too. It was also nice to see some of the back of house team joke around with each other. Unfortunately, this was the worst meal I had during my time in Athens. We ordered the toast with cream cheese, smoked salmon and greens, a freddo cappuccino, a hot cappuccino, and the chocolate pancakes for dessert. The toast was a huge disappointment. The bread was stale, hard, and cold,it honestly tasted like it had been sitting around for days. The smoked salmon wasn't bad, but it didn't have much flavor, and the handful of greens on the side were completely plain. No dressing, no olive oil, no lemon, no seasoning... just dry greens that we didn't end up eating. The chocolate pancakes were even more disappointing. They tasted like they had been made long before and left under a heat lamp. Instead of a proper chocolate sauce, it felt like plain melted chocolate had just been poured over them. The pancakes themselves were bland and dry, and the amount of chocolate couldn't make up for the lack of flavor. The coffee was okay, but nothing memorable. The service was simply efficient. It wasn't unfriendly, but it also wasn't welcoming, and it took quite a while before anyone came to take our order. The restaurant was reasonably clean, although not spotless. It was also very loud, with lots of people constantly walking past, which is something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quieter meal. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. We were so hungry that we ate most of the food, but under different circumstances, I honestly would have sent it back. Sadly, I wouldn't eat here again. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: €20–25
