Defo not the best Chinese we have had chicken curry was watery the chicken a bit tough, sweet and sour cantonese was okay, rice nice and fluffy, chips okay, portion sizes were small for price. Lady serving was nice. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

Popping in to see Katie at the Golden Rice is always a treat. You are greeted by a warm smile, and once you have placed your order, you can then marvel at her amazing multitasking skills. I have seen that lady, take a call, note down an order, and work out the price, all while wrapping the food that has come out of the hatch behind her. Between these times, she's always up for a pleasant chat while you wait for your takeaway. She's awesome! The food from here has always been delicious and reasonably priced, which is why it has now been my regular Chinese takeaway for years and the go to place after every haircut session in Hexham to finish off my evening. Please note its cash only, but that is hardly a problem as there are a number of ATMs close by. Food from here was amazing not from round here but wanted a Chinese takeaway the lady behind the counter was so lovely and friendly food was one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve had in a long time would defo recommend!
