Great deal on oysters every Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Not a fan of their other appetizers though. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $50–60

The food at Nomé Izakaya (Don Mills) was good but definitely not cheap. The galbi, oysters, Japa-burgers and gyoza with truffle cream sauce were great. The ginger salmon roll had way too much ginger. It overpowered everything else in the roll. The flavor of the marinated black cod was also disappointing. Service started off well but went sharply downhill. Our order was taken shortly after we were seated (about 5:15 pm) and the food arrived pretty quickly after that. Our friendly server said that staff work as a team so anyone could help us...sounded great. The problem started when we wanted to order more food. Our server was nowhere to be found. After several minutes, we flagged one of the wait staff (thinking they work as a team) and ask to order something. The young lady told us with a smile that she'd have to find our server. No one came by. Many more minutes later, we flagged down someone else and were again told that they'd ask our initial server to stop by our table. We waited and waited and still, no one came. We were tempted to just leave even though we were still hungry but we wouldn't have even been able to pay without our server. After a while, we flagged a 3rd staff person (also smiley) and, eventually, she was able to get our server to take our order. We asked for the bill at the same time just to reduce the anticipated lag time for that. The restaurant was only about 60 - 70% full. Overall, food was good but I'm not sure I got good value especially given the service. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $60–70
