Oh My God, what a hidden diamond in Mainz Germany... This Japanese restaurant is a hidden jewel or Mainz.. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, the table side serve is comfortable and the food is well beyond words other than superb.... Price per person: €40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Checking how manageable restaurant food actually is if you’re trying to control salt. = good control = partial control = little to no control Menu: The menu is much more detailed than in most places. Ingredients, sauces, spice levels, and preparation styles are explained pretty clearly. But when it comes to salt specifically, there’s still no real guidance on what is actually low-salt friendly. Reaction: The staff understood the request immediately and recommended the chicken dumplings as one of the safer options. Control: There are some ways to reduce salt exposure (for example skipping sauces), but the dishes themselves still seem fairly salt-dependent overall. Result: The dumplings were not oversalted, but still clearly salty enough to leave that familiar “restaurant salt” feeling afterwards. Better transparency than most places, but not necessarily better low-salt control. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Dietary restrictions: Staff understood low-salt requests and helped point out the safest available options.

The food looks and tastes good. The portion is reasonable also. Although there was difficulty in understanding our order, as the waiter who served us could only speak a little english.
