I’m kicking myself for not taking more photos at Number Ten Steakhouse in Chattanooga, but I was so hungry that day that taking pictures pretty much went right out the window! I was in Chattanooga for a work project and met up with an old buddy of mine who lives in the area. We were trying to figure out somewhere to grab dinner, and Number Ten happened to be convenient for both of us. A few local folks had recommended it too, so we figured we’d give it a shot. What a hidden gem! I’ve eaten at my fair share of high-end steakhouses over the years, and Number Ten can definitely hang with them. I don’t mean in terms of being overly expensive, super fancy, or stuffy. It’s actually the opposite—the place has a much more casual, laid-back feel. But when it comes to the flavor and quality of the steaks, the service, and the overall experience, it’s right up there with some of the better steakhouses I’ve visited. The steak was excellent, and the service was just as good. The atmosphere was probably one of my favorite things about the place. It’s casual and chill without being too loud, so you can actually have a conversation. It was perfect for catching up with an old friend, but I could just as easily see this being a great spot for a business dinner. It doesn’t surprise me that Number Ten keeps getting mentioned among Chattanooga’s better steakhouses. This is one of those places that might not immediately jump out at you from the outside, but once you find it, you understand why the locals recommend it. Great steak, great service, relaxed atmosphere, and an all-around great dinner. My only regret is that I didn’t take more pictures before we started eating! I’ll definitely be back if work, or anything else, that brings me through Chattanooga again. Price per person: $30–40
