Onami opened at Panorama Mall. The concept is Fast Japanese Kitchen. All orders are prepared for takeout. Customer eats at the Food Plaza of Panorama Mall or takes the food home. I have been to Onami around 5 times now. I love Japanese food and the Onami being accessible at Panorama, I do not have to travel far and wide to a posher Japanese resto. For food that would cost between 40 to 60 Riyals, my cravings for Japanese food is satiated. The first visit during the early part of its opening was not impressive. The service was still fair if not poor. After a few weeks of returning for dinner there usually on weekends, I have come to love the food. I am willing to wait for my Grilled Salmon Bento which is a personal favorite and the Tempura. I also enjoy the Chicken Garlic Ramen. They serve Rice Bowls but I have not tried them. Gyoza is fine. I wish they were bigger. They serve soups. But what is a Japanese food without Miso Soup. They should include that in their Menu. I wish they also have Soba Noodles. But that can come later. The crew are okay and the prices are affordable. Enjoy it. Come to Onami. I am disappointed with the service we received during our visit. My family and I were standing at the counter, taking our time to look through the menu and decide what to order. Even after we had made our decision and were clearly ready to place our order, no staff member approached or acknowledged us. Being left unattended throughout our visit was frustrating and quite embarrassing. Customers should not have to wait without any assistance, especially when they are visibly ready to order. There should always be a staff member available to greet and assist customers promptly to ensure a better dining experience.
