It's the tail end of the season but it's still 'season' so eating out requires adjusting our sked to arriving early. Now that we are permanent, there are several places along the OKI Dr "strip" we want to try. The first one along the way is Oak Island Deli Pub. It's not even remotely fancy. It's literally divided in half and there are 2 bars/dining areas. We went on on the right side and sat down. The bartender is also covering the dining room. In the back are pool tables and some slot machines. Wife ordered a patty melt on Texas toast. FiL had a crabcake sandwich and I had the Reuben and upped my side to onion rings. Wife and FiL said they enjoyed theirs and look forward to coming back. The onion rings were fresh out of the fryer (I could feel the heat before I touched them) yet were not greasy. AND they were battered NOT breaded! My Reuben was good but it could have been grilled a little longer-could have been toastier but all in all it was good. I understand the burgers and wings are the things to order. Well, next time!
