Avalon chocolate milk is one of my favourites even thought it’s expensive. First time checking out the Avalon retail store / restaurant, food isn’t bad but isn’t the best either, I was hoping it was going to be very good with all the hype but was disappointing. The cranberry sandwich was good but the soup was mediocre at best. I ordered the soup of the day and was told it was chowder but I don’t know what it was. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

This is a small cafe at Avalon Dairies. We rode 35 km in the rain because everyone wanted lunch, but especially ice cream. Wheelchair accessibility: There’s enough parking. The restaurant is flat going in and around, but it’s a tight fit. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Ice Cream Cone, Daily Soup and Sandwich Combo Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot

A little off the beaten path in the middle of a very commercial part of town, Old Farmhouse Kitchen has quickly become one of my favourite go-to lunch spots. Their daily lunch specials are always changing and provide great value for how much food you get. Some of my favourites are the meatloaf with mushroom gravy and the lasagne. The special comes with the main course, a soup or salad, and a small dessert, usually cookies. They often also have a daily sandwich which can be quite good, although I've only tried it once. Theres a small seating area inside with maybe a dozen high tables and chairs, but I typically get my food to go here. The packaging isn't the best, and there can be a bit of spillage inside the bag if you're not careful and there's a lot of sauce, but thats just because they pack so much food inside. The restaurant is run out of what seems to be an Avalon dairy warehouse or wholesaler. Since finding this place we've been waiting to buy milk whenever we come. You can also stock up on other great dairy products like yogurt or ice cream. They have a bottle return program and provide both organic and conventional products.
