didn't even know such check in was available until today. I have been coming to this area for quite a while and happen to take different route today to get here. Instead of existing to Downing street from I-25, I have taken Evans to the Pearl street and made turn to north. Sometimes we just gotta take different route and never know what we will run into like..today! Very 1st thing that came into my mind was the Park Burger at the corner of Jewel and Pearl. I have been going to different locations for this burger joint with innovative menu and great happy hour drink specials. finding one this close to my home base was very exciting. Right next to it is the Sweet Cow cremeary. Not too far, the Plate Park Brewing Company. One thing to note, no parking on the Plate Park side on 1st Tuesday of each month for street cleaning or end of getting $50 parking tickets. You gotta also try the Makan Malaysian Café and also Steam Espresso Bar with schick outdoor sitting area. North of Iowa Ave has the Pajama Baking, Uno Mas Taqueria and Sexy Pizza. Haven't tried Sexy Pizza yet but definitely on my to do list. Not to forget Gaia Bistro. Just up few stores closer to the Florida and Pearl is the Ototo and Que Bueno Suerte. The north side of Florida has the Sushi Den with curve side valet parking. next to it, Izakaya with impressive two story ceiling. Tavern Platt Park next door has 2nd floor area looking down Pearl street. right across to the east has my favorite coffee spot Stella's Gourmet and definitely they do make the best Americano. If you want something quick but with great table service, gotta try the Fourteen Seventy-two with nice breakfast and brunch offerings. Lastly, not the least is the Kao Pizzeria serving up awesome pizza and solids with best happy hour in Denver with bunch of micro brews on tap. Take a look at my Old South Peal Street list!
There's always something new and interesting to see, taste, or do on Old South Pearl. I haven't lived near here for long, but I've spent much of my summer wondering down the street on warm afternoons with an iced chai in hand from one of the many amazing coffee shops. All the shops are fun to wonder around in and I really like the fact that the vast majority of them maintain their house-like interiors (this is a weirdly specific preference of mine, but many of the businesses are a little maze-like on the ins aide, which I think adds to the quirkiness of the area). Most of the boutiques are too expensive for my liking, but I still really enjoy looking through the clothes and they usually have a half decent sale rack anyway.
Kinda overrated in my opinion. Being new to Denver decided to stop by since I'd heard many of the locals talking about old South Pearl Street. While I love the assortment of restaurants and would like to eventually try them all, that is the only good thing about this place. None of the regular stores are interesting for a nice stroll (like Larimer Square or even Boulder's Pearl St) following a stop by the restaurants. Also didn't liked how the businesses are randomly spread across several blocks rather than having all the businesses together surrounded by the residential areas.
