We have been holding our social group here for approximately 18 months now . The staff are really helpful , the food is amazing drinks are reasonably priced and the cakes well wow . Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I needed a special birthday cake for 30 people and, following a recommendation, ordered one from Jane at Oliver's. The cake (I chose coffee & walnut) was absolutely delicious - moist and not too crumbly, just the right level of sweetness, and with nice icing/piping. Highly recommended. Food: 5

Not very happy with being charged £10 for two bread rolls this was caused by your rather confusing menu that lists soup then under it says with a roll it says about £6 and then under that it says with a sandwich about £9 I can’t remember the exact figures so I assumed £9 would get you soup with a roll and a sandwich so I ordered two soups with a roll and two sandwiches a latte which is described as large, but I would say more like medium and a pot of tea total cost £35. It turns out the sandwiches were actually charged at £7 each so had we just had the drinks and soup and sandwiches the bill would’ve been about £25 but because we had two bread rolls, the bill was £35 which is ridiculous. You need to sort out your menu and make it clear on your menu. What the deal is regarding the soup i.e. put down soup roll his price X then on a separate line put down soup and sandwiches is price y Meal type: Other Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Hi Chris I'm so sorry you've felt the need to write this review given I spoke to you at the till when you placed your order to explain the pricing and you could have changed your order at that point if you felt the price was too high. We offer soup either with a roll or a sandwich at different prices as most people would find both too big a meal and it's priced exactly as you describe in your review. What you actually ordered was 4 meals and the preparation time that comes with that, hence the price. Our coffee is some of the cheapest in Sherborne and we use the excellent locally roasted Read's coffee. Other establishments locally are charging up to a pound more for equivalent sizes to ours. Your visit came on the busiest day of the year, Festive Shopping Day, so I'm pleased to see you didn't have to wait as I remember it being extremely busy when you came in. I do hope that you were able to enjoy the atmosphere of the day during the rest of your visit and can only apologise that you felt our menu wasn't clear enough. Kind regards Jane
