We had a great experience at Olle. The interior design is stylish and thoughtfully put together, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The floor staff were efficient, attentive, and professional, making sure everything ran smoothly throughout our visit. There were four of us, and it came to about NZ$48 per person. Charcoal-Grilled Squid. Sweet, tangy, and incredibly appetizing. Crispy Eggplant. Definitely one of their signature dishes—almost every table had it! The dipping sauce underneath was amazing, although I still couldn’t figure out exactly what it was made of. Slow-Braised Crispy Pork Belly. I had read some reviews saying it might be dry or have a strong pork smell, but we ordered it anyway. It turned out to be incredibly tender, the crispy skin was delicious, and it practically melted in your mouth. Daily Special Steak. The staff recommended it cooked medium-rare, and it was absolutely the right choice—perfectly tender and full of flavor. Crispy Potatoes. I completely forgot to take a photo! They were layered square potato blocks filled with a rich salted butter and black truffle sauce. So good! Korean Spicy Fried Chicken. We ordered this later because the first five dishes surprisingly weren’t enough for us. We originally skipped it since someone in our group couldn’t eat spicy food, but the server kindly offered to serve the sauce separately. Great suggestion! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Fried Prawn Balls. A squeeze of lemon made them even better. They weren’t greasy at all, and they were packed with lots of juicy shrimp. Seaweed Butter Rice. It wasn’t just seaweed, sesame, and butter—it also had fish roe and pickled yellow radish mixed in. Absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding. After bringing out the dishes, the staff kept walking around with a water jug to refill everyone’s glasses. Even when we asked for hot water, they took the cup away, refilled it properly, and brought it back. Every dish was introduced when served, with an explanation of what it was and what ingredients it contained. Truly five-star service! Honestly, every single dish was a hit. The only downside is that reservations are highly recommended. We walked in without booking and thought we wouldn’t get a table. Luckily, one group was over 30 minutes late and couldn’t be reached by phone, so after checking with them, the staff seated us at their table for four. We were really lucky! So if you’re planning to visit, definitely make a reservation in advance! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $40–50
