We have been walking past this place for a few years and decided to try it for a recent special occasion. First off, the service was wonderful, they have a younger staff and they were on their game, our server rattled off the many specials without even looking at any notes which was impressive. Sad to say the actual food and atmosphere did not match. When we walked in we were surprised since the outside gives off upscale and romantic and the inside is giving chain restaurant with mediocre decor. It was also very bright and loud so not the vibe we were looking for. We got the mozzarella appetizer which was a great start however both our entrees were very salty and drenched in sauces, my dish included brussels sprouts and you could not even tell what they were since there was way too much aioli all over them. For the price we expected more. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1

We ordered takeout (CAB Filet + Pasta dish). The filet was very good, but we found hairs weaved into the pasta not once, but TWICE. Tried brushing it off the first time, but second time was just beyond. I guess that’s homemade pasta for you. Didn’t bother calling bc it wouldn’t change anything, just def won’t be coming back.

Opal Restaurant & Bar on Riviera Drive in Mount Pleasant is a great place to go for delicious and flavorful food in a cool and relaxed atmosphere. The staff here is very accommodating and makes sure that you have everything that you need for the best meal experience.
