I first visited Open Rice in 2022 with my family, and ever since, I’ve made sure to come back every time I visit Malmö. It’s taken me a while to finally write a review – but this place definitely deserves one! The restaurant is small but has a basement level. It’s clean, tidy, and well-organized. The staff are always lovely – friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Service is impressively fast. Despite the fact that the restaurant is always busy (especially around lunchtime), we usually get our food within about 10 minutes. The food: I often order the dishes shown in the photos. The marinated meats are flavorful and well-seasoned. The crispy pork belly has a perfect crackling – super crispy without being tough. The roasted duck is delicious, though it seems to be limited in quantity, so if you want to try it, I recommend coming a bit earlier. My daughter especially loves the sweet and sour sauce – so much so that we once ordered an extra portion to take home after finishing our meal!
