Truly amazing experience! We visited here around 9:00 PM, which was their closing time. Even then, from the Security Officer to every member of the staff, everyone welcomed us with warm smiles and treated us with exceptional kindness. They never made us feel rushed and made sure we had a wonderful dining experience. I've ordered food online from here many times, but this was my first visit to the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, just as I expected, and the service was outstanding. The hospitality and customer care truly impressed us. Highly recommended! The Open Rice restaurant is located very close to the Old Kandy Road. (when coming from Getambe toward the Kandy side) The taste of the food and the interior design of the restaurant are average. However, we had to experience the following weaknesses here. The time taken to serve the food is extremely long. We had to wait for more than ½ an hour. The customer service is at a low level. They charge a up price for dining on the third floor compared to dining on the second floor. (There is no clear reason for this) Many chairs on the third floor are in a damaged condition. Despite these issues, the third floor of this place offers a good city view and a view of the Hanthana mountain range. We visited this restaurant today and had a very disappointing experience from the moment we entered. The entire place had a very unpleasant smell, especially a strong toilet/sewage smell spreading around the dining area, which completely ruined our appetite. On top of that, there were mosquitoes everywhere, making it extremely uncomfortable to sit and eat peacefully. We ordered rice and French fries, but the food quality was terrible. The “French fries” did not even taste or look like real French fries. It seemed like they had fried some kind of flour mixture or old batter instead of proper potatoes, and everything was overcooked and badly burnt. The food looked careless and tasted awful. What disappointed us the most was the staff attitude. We politely informed them about the burnt food and poor quality, but they simply ignored our complaint and showed no concern at all. There was no apology, no replacement, and no proper customer service. The hygiene, food quality, and service standards were far below acceptable level. We wasted our money and left feeling extremely disappointed. We definitely will not visit this place again and would not recommend it to anyone expecting decent food or service.
