Looking around the restaurant, it was quite obvious that we were not the only party that were frustrated by the slow service.
My advice to Oscar's management is to investigate what went wrong and identify why service was so slow because if this is a persistent problem, despite how good your food may be, you will start to lose customers.
My first bad experience at this restaurant was on valentines day, forty five minutes to get the welcome drink that you actually pay for because it was included in the price. It took an hour and twenty minutes before the food arrived and when it did my steak was cold in the middle, blue steak does not mean cold steak, its actually steak served warmed through and seared, it went back and when it came back thankfully it was much better but the poor service continued.
People were constantly trying to signal staff for service and one couple were asked as they had just finished, would they mind leaving to make room for someone else!
The issue with the bad service is not actually the fault of the waiting staff who were very apologetic, it was the very poor organisation and leadership skills, (not to mention his complete lack of customer focus) of the duty manager, I have been lucky enough to have eaten all over the world and I have NEVER come across a more incompetent manager.
The second was just last night, and to cut a long story short, we didn’t even get to order let alone eat anything, because we had a groupon voucher that was given to my wife for her birthday, this apparently is fround upon by the aforementioned manager who was extremely unprofessional which resulted in me loosing my temper and leaving, NOT the experience your after when at a so called “top dinning experience” unfortunately that’s not what you will get at Oscars, not with its current manager anyway.
