Came here just shortly after 12:00 and they were basically sold out of pastries. I have never seen shelves so empty before at a cafe. There was exactly one left of the peanut & ferrero so I got both as I thought it would be better than leaving with nothing, considering the 30 minute drive there. I brought them to a dinner later in the day and the peanut pastry was definitely the crowd pleaser amongst our group. When I was paying I was told by an employee that people usually pre-order and that I should plan my day accordingly if I don’t want to be disappointed, which was a tad off-putting to say the least. Food: 4 Service: 3

I just want to say thank u for the best service in town I come EVERY DAY for the beautiful faces in the coffeee shop OLIVIA the manager not just a pretty soul but an unforgivable. Pretty face ! All the girls are amazing the Matcha latte lavender a big big go to !!! I recommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

As a lover of baked goods and a frequent visitor to Calgary bakeries, I was excited to try Otie. On my first visit, I purchased a croissant and a Banoffee cheesecake. The croissant was genuinely great. Fresh, well laminated, and enjoyable. The cheesecake, however, was frozen. At a $13 price point, and with Otie claiming their goods are “fresh baked daily,” this was extremely disappointing. I reached out to Otie directly to ask whether freezing their baked goods was standard practice. I received no response, which was also disappointing. To me, it appears items are prepared in advance, frozen, then thawed and baked the day of. While this may technically qualify as “freshly baked,” it feels misleading. To be sure this wasn’t a one off, I returned and purchased another cheesecake. It was frozen again. After reading other reviews, it’s clear I’m not the only one who has experienced this. Calgary has many excellent bakeries offering truly freshly prepared and freshly baked treats for less, with better customer service, some just a few blocks away. I’d recommend choosing one of those instead. You’ll save money and avoid the unpleasant experience of a frozen product being passed off as fresh. If Otie chooses to respond to this review, I think it would be helpful to clearly state which products have been previously frozen. Customers deserve full transparency before paying $13 for a four-bite frozen cheesecake. Not publicly stating what has been frozen and what hasn't suggests to me that ALL products have been previously frozen and are not worth the price point.
