I walked in with high expectations based on a friend’s recommendation, but our night turned into an absolute masterclass in terrible service and unprofessionalism. The evening started awkwardly with our seating. We had a reservation for six, but our assigned table only had chairs for four, leaving two of us on stools. When I asked the head waiter for a different table, he spent 15 minutes wandering around I was a walk-in customer, only to return and declare that because we had a reservation, we couldn’t be moved. This made no sense since there were plenty of unreserved(no reserved tag on table), empty tables right around us. We gave up on moving and just asked him to swap the stools for chairs, which they eventually did. Things seemed okay as we ordered our drinks and starters. We initially asked for two Chicken Kottus, a portion of Boneless Deviled Chicken, and Hot Butter Cuttlefish, intending to order more food later in the night. One kottu arrived first, and about 10 to 15 minutes later, the cuttlefish showed up. After that, we got absolutely nothing for almost two hours. It completely ruined the vibe since we had no bites to go with our drinks, and the absurd delay made us entirely give up on ordering anything else. Every time we asked our waiter what was going on, we were fed a rotating carousel of excuses. First it was being prepared, then the order was misplaced, and finally it was accidentally served to another table. Meanwhile, we sat there watching table after table get served the exact same kottu we were supposedly waiting for. When the Boneless Deviled Chicken finally made an appearance two hours later, it was burnt. The worst part was the staff's attitude. When we pointed out the burnt food, they dismissively told us that is just how it is. I literally had to challenge the waiter to taste it himself before he backed down, took the plate away, and brought back an edible version 15 minutes later. To top off the terrible experience, my friend asked the head waiter where the restroom was. The waiter actually mocked him, smugly replying that there are no restrooms, but the washroom is there. The absolute arrogance to mock a paying customer over a common synonym, acting like restroom and washroom are not the exact same thing, just highlighted his own ignorance and blatant lack of respect. The music is decent, the atmosphere is nice, and the food actually tastes okay(when it isn't burnt), though the portion sizes probably need work. But when a restaurant pairs a two hour wait with shifting excuses, burnt food, and a condescending staff, the good vibe does not matter at all. Had a great experience at Pancetta Restaurant for a farewell party. We used their VIP room, which was very spacious and comfortable for our group, and we had a really good time. The food was really tasty and enjoyable, and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the evening. The nighttime atmosphere is especially nice, with music playing and the place getting livelier and more crowded as the night goes on. They also offer a BYOB option, which is a great added benefit for parties and gatherings. Overall, a great place for delicious food, celebrations, and good vibes with friends.
