Went to this restaurant with a group of 7 people. We ordered oxtail po boy, baked chicken, red beans and rice, oxtail and rice, shrimp with grits, and several different types of cookies. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I had the oxtail po boys which I had never had before. The meat was super tender and the bread was toasted perfectly. It came with a bag of chips, pickles, and a pepperocini. I will definitely come back if I ever make it back to town. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Located in the basement off of River Walk, Papa What You Cooking is a delicious hole in the wall. Shrimp and grits, braised oxtail, the Sweet cornbread, Mac and cheese, dirty rice, yams, collared greens and Papa Tea are all awesome choices. Service is friendly particular props to Marcus (the son of the owner who is from New Orleans) and prices are great. 5 stars for Papa What You Cooking and two thumbs up! My first week in Reno and I find this soul food Gem in the basement. Oxtails meat just falling of the bone in chunks even the BONE had flavor!! Let's just say the food is so good that Hot sauce, Salt and Pepper shakers are just table decorations. The Mac and cheese had me ready to fight my friend because she kept scooping out of my bowl. The cornbread was excellent I just wish they passed me a extra piece of butter just a preference. The greens was super good and I normally will not say that about greens cooked with turkey but they did their thing with those greens. Also tried the dirty rice and cabbage which wasn't bad but just felt like they both were missing something that I can't place my finger on it!!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
