This was a really disappointing dining experience. I’m someone who eats out a lot in some amazing restaurants and this was probably the worst food experience I have ever had. The service was okay and the staff were very apologetic when we complained about the quality of the food. They took 20% off our bill which we appreciated but the price was still ridiculous for an extremely low calibre of food. There was absolutely zero balance of flavours in any of the dishes and we actually left feeling quite gross and really underwhelmed. I came to celebrate my 25th birthday with my family as we just felt so disappointed. It’s a cool looking place on the inside but that is about it. Service: We waited at the entrance for quite some time before walking to the bar and asking if someone could seat us. They told us to wait and eventually someone came. On a Saturday night, there should be someone on front of house the whole time, as there were constantly people walking in/out. Food: Tempura Jumbo Prawn: this was SO salty and it needed some sweetness and/or acidity somewhere. The sauce was just a mayo with chill oil and it was so heavy and oily with no flavour. Tuna Tartare: I explained I don’t like wasabi and asked if the sauce could be served separately and the kitchen refused to do so. When it arrived, there was a large blob of wasabi smeared on the side of the plate and the seaweed was stuck to it. The sauce (“wabi-sabi”) juice that the tuna in just wasted like water. The tuna was so bland and barely even tasted like tuna, tasted very watery and bland. Grilled Octopus Skewer: This was probably the best dish of the night. The octopus was tender in some parts, but other wider parts were chewy. The soy glaze was nice, but it needed a fair amount of it on there to enhance the flavour. Chicken Karage: This was a big let down. It lacked salt (we had to ask for salt) and didn’t have any flavour whatsoever. The batter didn’t resemble a true karage batter and seems more like a KFC batter. It was so oily and I was expecting a tart yuzu mayo to balance the extreme fattiness of the chicken. The mayo just tasted like normal mayo and again, had no flavour whatsoever. Duck: This was the biggest let down of the night. The duck was cooked perfectly, i’ll say that, but the skin was barely rendered and there was SO much fat still on there. To add to that fatty texture, the sauce was disgusting. It was basically a plate full of butter. The butter taste just left an awful oily coating in your mouth and there were only a few sugar snaps peas on the plate. Our waitress was good and she apologised many times and brought it up with her manager. The manager apologised and said the kitchen would review the dishes and he also said that japanese cuisine doesn’t involve much acidity so the balance of flavours we mentioned isn’t really true for japanese cuisine. It didn’t make sense to me because all cuisines have elements of sweet, salty, sour, umami etc. It was just a really disappointing experience and I definitely won’t be going back and won’t be recommending it to anyone. It’s a shame because Japanese is my favourite cuisine and I really wanted to enjoy my birthday dinner, but I came home feeling so yuck after a very oily and heavy dinner that was disappointing. It was also VERY expensive. $190 (came to $150 after he discounted us) for 3 people without ANY drinks and very low quality food. Price per person: $60–80 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

I had such a wonderful dining experience here recently. The atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed meal, and every single dish was presented beautifully. The beef carpaccio was a standout, with the perfect balance of flavours and a lovely drizzle of sauce. Everything we ordered arrived looking fresh and vibrant, and the portions were just right. I am already looking forward to my next visit to try more of the menu. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Fantastic place for small group meals or dinner dates! Lunch time vibes have a cozy, intimate, jazz lounge feel to it, while at dinner the place transforms to have more of a lively, cocktail bar. Lighting, decor, and set up are beautiful and I’ve come for group dinners in the private room, as well as 1:1 meals in the main dining area. Staff are really accommodating and attentive, and pace the food nicely, so it’s great if you like taking your time to enjoy meals with friends. Would definitely recommend the set menus, a bit pricey but well worth it. They’re tapa sizes so ideal if you like having a taste of everything. They were also very accommodating to dietary requirements when we had a bigger group and provided options for individual people’s needs, even with set menus! Price per person: $100–120 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Available Dietary restrictions: If you let them know ahead of time, they will adjust set meals to accomodate, or they can let you know at the time what they can adjust or would recommend as alternatives
