Kind of a disappointment after the Craig Laban review in the Inquirer. The cocktails were very good. We ordered the roasted olives and steak tartare. The tartare, an appetizer, came out 20-30 minutes after the olives. I didn't care for the taste of the tartare - maybe the flavor of the tallow? The olives were fine but missing cornichion listed on the menu. Our drinks sat empty until our second round of appetizers were served, There are only four entrees on the menu, which is fine, but the table next to us got the last branzino, the fish course, which left our dinner options to three. My roast chicken was good (the bed of marinated beans might have been the best bite of the night). My partners pasta dish, not house made, was tasty but very heavy on garlic. I would say the entrees were 3.25 star. Where we ran into issues was dessert - our server explained the seasonal ice cream, which was listed as $9 on the menu, was olive oil and a caviar garnish as part of the dish. We ordered that but then our server offered the table next to us a complimentary olive oil ice cream with caviar. We then get our bill and it turns out the caviar is a $12 upcharge bringing it to $21. Just overall a generally underwhelming experience for a $230 dinner. We had breakfast here, and was also our first time visiting. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed every aspect of our meal. Bloody Mary was perfectly spicy. The star of the show was the French toast using the most amazing milk bread from Elsewhere Bread and local strawberry's. Looking forward to enjoying the next meal here. Worth checking out! Oh my!!! Passerine is a total gem! Every dish had such an amazing, unique blend of flavors, and the drinks were just as good. The service felt so personal and attentive. It really made the whole night feel special. If you're in Lancaster, definitely don't miss this place! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $90–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
