If I could give zero I would. Never been so disgusted in the hospitality of a business. Visited for the first time and spoke with the ‘landlord’ and his friend, and seemed liked a great place. However they first started by slating where we were staying but invited us in for a drink so we did. After a few drinks, the ‘landlords’ friend made a very inappropriate comment to me and another girl, it was then mentioned to him by our partners saying it wasn’t right to make us feel uncomfortable, next thing you know he’s storming over to me and my friend stoping us from going to the bathroom and being aggressive. From there our partners, within their own right, told them to leave us alone. Within minutes the ‘landlords’ friend JIMMY punched my boyfriend in the face, broke his glasses and got his mates involved so it was 5 against 1. Jimmy’s wife, or could have been his mum to be fair, then squared up to me and tried grabbing me in which I told her to leave me alone, so she scratched my boyfriend and threw a broken glass in his face. The whole pub the turned on us and treated us like scum, when this all started because of a sick, misogynistic comment from their, Helmsley based friend, and we would do the same again. We are fun, fiery people but please know we did not make any sick comments toward anyone or throw the first punch! Won’t be visiting Helmsley again which is a shame, but isn’t a place I want to be with those sort of people. P.s he ain’t a landlord, his Mrs runs the bar and he sorts the pumps as advised by the lovely ladies in co-op next door- If we knew that we wouldn’t have gone in, in the first place Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Waited at the bar then wandered into the hotel to find some people asking if steak would be available tomorrow. Answer "yes , maybe " Went back to bar still no service so left. Very poor. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
