Where do I start? Arrived with a group of 6 at about 8 on a Thursday eve, and were quickly seated in a mostly empty restaurant. Let's order some drinks. Two pints of London Pride please. Oh sorry, that's off. Pint of cider? Off as well. OK..... Order some doughballs to share, and a pizza each. Doughball were ok, a bit pale, the pesto was mostly oil. Pizzas arrive....the waiter promptly drops one of them on the table, lands mostly in my water glass and the rest on the table, "I'll clean that up and get another one" - ok thanks - bit more of an apology would've been nice, but hey. Other pizzas arrive, including an incorrect one. "OK I'll get you the right one". Long wait, two of our group have no food. Pizzas are ok, no more than that. At no point does anyone check on us. We finish our food, waiter comes over: "Are you all finished"? Yeah, I guess......maybe we won't bother with deserts then. Bill arrives unsolicited, paid, and despite my better judgement I added a tip.....not even a thankyou. OK, I guess we'll go.....we leave the restaurant and shout "Bye guys, thank you" at the large group of waiters huddled around the kitchen. Silence. When I get to the car, I discover my trouser legs and shoes have sauce from the dropped pizza on them. Look, I'm not fussy....I know hospitality is hard work. But maybe a bit more of an apology, a free drink, or a bit off the bill would've been in order? I'm not going to name and shame anyone, but I have the receipt and the name of the waiter in case anyone in Pizza Express wants to have a chat with me.
