We turned up 10mins early for our booking - no issue, there were plenty of free tables and we're shown to our table immediately. Before we even sat down we were asked what drinks we would like.
2 cokes, no ice, 1 regular Americano with the milk separate.
The lady comes back with 2 cokes no ice, and an Americano, but no milk. In rush she turns on her heels to leave, we quickly ask for menus as we weren't sat down with these. Yes of course.
Lady comes back with menus, and we ask for the milk...
It is now the actual time of our booking 5pm.
35mins pass and no one has been for our order, so we flag a member of staff down, who has served 2 tables who were seated after us... Not seen out waitress since the milk... ordered the food.
Our witness then comes over to take away the coffee cup, we ask for an ashtray. Yes sure. 15 mins. No ashtray, so we mask up and find our own.
Food arrives. We're asked if we'd like any sauces... Mum would actually like the peas that were supposed to come with her meal. Some vinegar, and salt and pepper. We'd also like some cutlery to eat it with.
The waitress then goes and serves another table... whilst our food gets cold and we can't eat our food with no cutlery.
Anyway... I chose the chilli con carne and garlic bread as a side, I had 3-4 mouthfuls left, as really quite delicious, but I had to quickly leave to the toilet as I was touching cloth so to speak. That oil or grease from the chilli and the garlic bread combined just went through me. No impressed at all.
The quickest they were all night, was when we asked to pay the bill. At that moment did that waitress not tend to anyone else, stop off at another table, or forget the card machine. When obtaining money, it was efficient.
I want to be able to say that because if COVID, but no. I see it as, they've had plenty of time to prepare.
We've been customers since Owd Jerry and chip bowl was a thing... I don't think we'll be back.
