New Year’s Eve evening meal and Music, all good and rooms very clean and comfortable. Errors with our bills and one of our friends the next day tainted the whole experience, our friends were refunded after a lengthy conversation, we didn’t realise until we read our bank statement, £18. Food & drinks: Food and drinks were good however the next morning when checking out we had a bill for 4 drinks added to our bill that we didn’t purchase, £18. Our friends also had a bill for £35 pound for brandy’s which we didn’t have an enjoyable new years meal and venue spoilt by mistakes with the bills tainted the evening. Rooms: 5 Service: 2 Location: 4

My wife and I stayed at Pontlands Park Hotel as a joint 60th and 65th birthday treat. We had a meal with 2 other couples. The meal was £300 between 6 people, and a double room rate was £200. Not exactly "budget," but the meal was very good. It was the room that was the problem The temperature in the room was stiflingly hot in the middle of the night. 24.5 degrees. They had the heating running full blast right into the early hours to compensate for cold weather. I phoned the night porter for assistance. He did not come to the room, merely suggested turning off the thermostat on the old radiator and opening the tiny windows which were behind thick curtains. No attempt at customer service or assistance at all. The radiator stayed piping hot for hours, and there was no breath of air behind those thick curtains. By morning the room was still 22 degrees and we hardly got any sleep at all. I've been in correspondence with the hotel about this to no avail. The owners are denying that there was a problem and are refusing any kind of refund. Addition: Mr Bartella, you are a liar. I did not make demands, I politely asked you to consider a partial refund, which you declined to do. Two reviews, here and on TripAdvisor hardly constitute "attacking you on all forms of review sites," and also I did not threaten you. I was simply asking for some compensation for what was frankly a bloody awful night in your overpriced hotel. Rooms: Unbearably hot in the middle of winter. No ventilation. No way of turning the heating down at 3 in the morning.
