Great food, I had the dish of the day and was pleasantly surprised by the dessert. Service could be improved, one of the serves looked untrained. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: kr 200–300

We were excited to try out Prästgatan, the sister restaurant of the well-known Spiseriet. It has a similar cozy atmosphere with an open kitchen and eclectic furniture, giving off a countryside vibe right in the center of Varberg. While Spiseriet focuses mainly on produce and herbs, Prästgatan's menu explores various culinary directions with equal creativity. Our dining experience featured well-balanced and expertly executed dishes. The highlight was definitely the halibut, leaving a lasting impression. If fish is on the menu, you can't go wrong here. However, the panko-fried langoustine with sriracha mayo and jalapeños didn't quite match our taste, but that's just personal preference. It's a trendy thing to put sriracha and jalapenos in Sweden, it seems. But at least it goes to show there is something for all tastes on this menu. Overall, highly recommend trying out Prästgatan.
