We celebrated a special milestone tonight at the Press Club and I could say that we had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion and the service truly made our night extra special. Peyton (I hope I spelled that correctly) looked after us and was incredibly lovely and accommodating throughout the evening, he made us feel genuinely welcomed. I had the Surf and Turf, and my steak was cooked to perfection, exactly how I like it! All of us enjoyed our meals and our overall dining experience was excellent. We look forward to visiting again! We loved our meal there. The starters were super tasty (we had the sweet chili chicken and the chorizo croquettes), and the mains were equally good. The food came quickly and the service was excellent. The decor was luxurious but not stuffy. Price per person: NZ$80–90 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

For my main I ordered the surf and turf. Unfortunately my steak was inedible. The chef should know better than serving a butterflied tail to customers paying $52 for an eye fillet. I could not cut through the steak. I complained and my meal was removed. By the time I was asked if I wanted a replacement my partner had finished his meal so I didn't bother. We weren't charged for my steak but I still missed out on the amazing meal I was hoping for. Also no garlic butter on the fries as described in the menu. The service was incredible though, our server was highly trained, very apologetic and set a high standard. I felt bad for him that he was let down by the chef, who we were told was new. Still should know not to use the end of the fillet when charging so much... Especially when my partner ordered the same and received a nice portion so it was easy to compare.
