Our order had been either taken incorrectly or mixed up with another customer. Our food arrived and it was not what we ordered. We politely explained this to the server. A woman who had been making coffees (I assume either the owner or manager) then came over and told us that we received was what we had asked for, repeating this several times, and each time raising her voice further and becoming angrier. Another staff member soon raced over to advise that there had been a mistake, and we had received the wrong order. The owner simply walked off, no apology, nothing! I understand mistakes happen, but the attitude and service was appalling. The coffee and food were very good though. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Stopped by for a coffee and the porchetta panini, both absolutely delicious. Staff were attentive and welcoming, there’s a great selection of local wines and small goods as well. Really nice vibe overall. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Beechworth. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Impeccable with service, ambience and even more so, food. We happened upon Project 49 and boy we were so happy. The food was absolutely incredible, the staff were friendly and the ambience was just right. A large share table allowed for multiple guests and intermingling if chosen. We had a share plate of cured meats, pate and a salad plus wine. We chatted to the lovely local man who makes the pate. The owner was lovely too! Nothing was too much trouble. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $60–80
