Purezza used to be one of my favourite restaurants and I used to visit quite regularly. There's a reason why this changed. Every time I visit, the experience gets worse. This time, the food was good as per usual (the coffee and matcha were awful though, very watery). The service was not good enough. The waiter was rude, not considerate, always with a sarcastic smile. When we asked for the menu to see the coffees/teas, because we mentioned that we didn't want dessert, the waiter refused to bring the menu and just mentioned all the drinks available by heart. He was clearly rushing us. When we asked to pay, I was very disappointed because the NHS discount was no longer available (apparently NHS workers don't eat during the weekends, when they finally manage to rest). Even more disappointed when I realised that the restaurant keeps using an app for payments and charging the client a fee for the payment to go through. As per usual, I asked to pay by card because I refuse to fund a service that was entirely the restaurant's decision. If you want to use apps, pay for them. On top of this, the prices are getting a bit too much. Pizzas 20£, a smoothie 8.5£? Very disappointing. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: £20–30

Sorry to hear that you felt your latest visit did not live up to expectations. I do hope you'll try us again soon. It has long been our policy for offers and discounts to be valid on Monday to Friday only. We do use a QR code payment system for our customers' convenience which incurs a small 49p charge. As you correctly identified, you can pay by card directly with a member of our team and this charge does not apply. I'm sure the waiter thought he was just being helpful when he went through our hot drinks with you personally on a one to one basis. Our team pride themselves on customer service so I do think your reading of a smile as 'sarcastic' is potentially a misread of the situation. With regards to pricing, we keep our prices as competitive as possible in an economic climate of rising food prices and multiple other financial pressures which come with operating as an ethical and sustainable hospitality business while also looking after our staff.
