Wonder why restaurant businesses go out of business in Nashua? Mediocrity, that's why. What made this experience mediocre was the slow service...perhaps it is due to traversing the many steps to the kitchen/bar, etc. The food was just "okay". I've had better. The food was overcooked and cold. Hire people that care or join the ranks of failed ventures because of ineffectual staff.

This is my fiancé and I’s new favorite restaurant in Nashua! We have been for dinner a couple times now and this past Sunday we went for Brunch. We had excellent service despite clearly seeing there was only one server on that day. Management was up front about the staffing shortage but the service and accommodations were unchanged from any other experience here. Staff is friendly and go above and beyond to make our experience a great one. Now the food you cannot get this quality food anywhere else in Nashua. In my opinion it is up there with Surf and Buckley’s, plus COMPELTELY farm to table. The brunch experience was no exception. I got the Benedict Special.. yum! Our server Kerri was sweet, attentive and kept those mimosas flowing! We will become regulars at Nashua’s greatest hidden gem! Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Wild Mushroom Bisque, Charcuterie Plate

I have been to the Rambling House Food & Gathering Restaurant about 5 times I would guestimate since they opened. The food is typically delicious, but overall, I have not been impressed with the service. Compared to other local establishments that I frequent, the service at Rambling House is a little less than par. The servers are nice, but attentiveness/checking in is definitely lacking, and given the quality of the food, I expect more on the service side. Tonight my husband and I went with my parents who are visiting from South Carolina; we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, but our server kind of "fell of the face of the earth." I had to ask a kitchen runner to send our server to the table so that we could order more drinks to go with our dinners, and once we were finished, we sat at the table for quite some time with dirty dishes, waiting for it to be cleared. I wound up having to go to the hostess stand to request a to-go box (after already requesting one with our server because we were waiting for so long), and another server overheard me, and said she would be right out with one (which she was). Additionally, I had to ask the hostess to bring the third dessert we ordered because that wasn't brought out either. In fact, the same server who brought our to-go box is the server who brought us our check, not even our regular server. We didn't see our regular server again until we were on our way out of the restaurant. I understand that things happen/things come up, and yes, I have high expectations given our service at other local establishments, but no apology or explanation was provided for the fact that our server basically disappeared. I'm disappointed in that regard, and while I'll likely go back so that my husband and I can enjoy sitting/eating on the deck, I'm not exactly excited to return because I have yet to be fully impressed with the service. While complications can occur for a server that causes delays, this situation sounds excessive. We are glad to hear that another server jumped in to assist you where they could, but this does not excuse a lack of communication from your assigned server or management, were they made aware. This certainly does not meet our standards of service at Rambling House and we are grateful for the opportunity to improve by considering your feedback. We will be bringing this information back to our team, not to take punitive action, but to better understand what happened behind the scenes and learn where we can improve service and training. We sincerely hope that you will dine with us again and that your next experience with us provides a more positive service experience.More
