Just visited with friends for lunch. We were originally concerned when we saw that the parking lot looked pretty full, but there were parking places left, and when we got inside there was plenty of seating available, it's bigger inside than it looks. Seating seemed mostly bar height tables and chairs, with some regular height tables, and I think there might be some booths. Everything was clean, the decor is simple and not kitschy or contrived, mostly beer and alcohol signs, with TVs showing sports programming. It is light, airy, and fairly quiet. Service was prompt and pleasant and the food came out about when you would expect, not suspiciously fast like it was microwaved, but not long enough that we ran out of stuff to talk about. The food was very good and did not seem like typical frozen food off the Sisco truck, the chicken was obviously breaded and cooked from fresh, the coleslaw actually had some zing too it, the pizza my friend had was, according to her, above average and was piping hot and obviously built and cooked to order. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food and service. We all agreed to add Red Front to our regular Friday lunch get together. I gave it five stars not because it is some kind of phenomenal Gordan Ramsey fine dining experience, but because the service and food were good and it is excellent at being what it is supposed to be, an American family restaurant. Not good at all. The food is terrible. Can't go wrong with the beer, just don't expect to drink more than a couple because it's hard to get the server to come to your table. Beer and sports on tv, that's all that place is good for. I can get both anywhere, no need to go back there. The pizza crust was still dough. Hadn't turned to crust yet. Just gross. I've given this place at least 10 chances. Disappointed each time. Next time my friends want to go out, it won't be to the RedFront.

We decided to drive West, go somewhere different. We ended up in Richmond, Indiana. We saw Red Front Pizza & Grill. Reva was our waitress. She was very nice and personable! I ordered the Tyler burger without the jack cheese and mayo because I don't like cheeseburgers and like mayo even less. It came out wonderful. I forgot to ask for it medium rare. That was my mistake, not theirs. It came with house chips, and I ordered cottage cheese as my side. I only ate half, and the burger was huge. Mark had the Brunch Monster Sandwich. He could only eat half of it because it was so big. His also came with the chips, and he, too, ordered cottage cheese. Their website says there is one in Eaton, Ohio also, that would be much closer, but the original is in New Paris, Ohio. It would be worth another drive to Richmond.
