Deliciously delectable Red House in Renton. Tucked away just off downtown, nestled in the shrubbery next to the VFW. This place is literally a house, and it uses every inch of it: wonderful outdoor decks and patio seating, an indoor bar, and rooms full of tables on both the main floor and upstairs. The food and drinks were amazing. The star of the show was the Crispy Pork Shank on a bed of creamy mushroom orzo. The happy hour menu is great, with real portions for the early birds, and the NA beverage selection is on point. We'll be back, not just for the regular menu but for the specials, the atmosphere, and the friendly service. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $30–40 Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot

Great servers and atmosphere! Not so great food. The quality is mixed and execution low. For example, charging a premium for a mac and cheese that uses velveeta was a big turnoff(gross)-especially in the land of mac and cheese. Salads were kind of basic and meh. Proteins were ok. The person who designed the meals may want to refresh the designs or look at sourcing better ingredients. It was all of the details, or lack of, that were the issue. I would go back for a drink, but not food. Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Hi Niki, Thank you for your feedback- glad to hear you at least enjoyed the ambiance and service. While we are aware we can't make everyone happy all the time, I'm sorry we fell short of your expectations on the food front. I would however like to note that all our food is made from scratch in house, and there is zero usage of "velveeta" or anything similar in our macaroni and cheese. Unsure where you got that idea, but it is absolutely and completely untrue. Unfortunately, I can't speak to the other "details, or lack thereof" that you mentioned, as we approach each dish with thought, care, and intention. Without further specifics, I would not know what concerns to address. All this aside, we understand not every restaurant is for everyone, but I did want to point out the inaccuracy in your initial review. Hope you join us for a drink if not food again soon!
