We love stopping at diners on all our travels. Service was excellent! We ordered the philly cheese steaks. They were plentiful and delicious! The buns were fresh and the meat tasted very good. It is an old diner and it needs updates but it was an excellent stop. Reasonable prices. Two philly subs, large fry (it was a large too), drink and water... $34! So glad we stopped. Today is Sunday, 28 June 2026 and it’s been a long time since I have stopped at the Red Line Diner located at 2691 Winfield Road, St Albans, WV. Plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant and booth seating on both sides of this little place. It’s a 50’s 60’s style diner that doesn’t disappoint. Maya told us to set wherever we felt comfortable. She immediately asked us for our drink order. We received them within a flat minute. Maya then took our order and proceeded to kitchen to get our food started. We had a few minutes to set and talk. We were enjoying our drinks and Maya came by and gladly took my glass for a refill. Then our food arrived. Hot, steaming, smelling incredible. My wife’s sandwich was a Philly Cheesesteak, The Works. Sliced in two pieces and each piece was a meal in itself. I ordered a Double Bacon Cheeseburger. I’m telling you the truth, I saw that sandwich and I honestly thought I was like Casey Webb, that guy from Man vs Food. That burger was absolutely HUGE!! Plus, we had ordered a large order of fries. I had asked Maya how much meat was in a patty. She told me 1/4 pound each. But honestly, if I were guessing, it was closer to 1/2 pound per patty. I tried not to disappoint the cook, I ate the whole thing! Hahahaha! Needless to say, my wife and I were too full to entertain the thought of dessert. But I want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who was working today. A great dining experience and thankful to Maya who smiled continually, and just very pleasant to talk with. This has been on my list to try for a while. Seen a video on TikTok and I was convinced. The atmosphere was all over the place, people weren’t lying about the booths, it’s literally just spring and boards. My husband got the double burger not knowing how big it would be. We got a large fry (which we ate most of before this photo) and I got a pizza bread. The pizza bread was okay. Everything was very mediocre and when we went to pay it was $58!!! I have been to local places who get their beef right down the road locally and it was never almost $60. Please go anywhere else it’s not worth it, so many better local places who have FRESH foods that are not insanely overpriced. Meal type: Dinner Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2
