amazing boutique-like hotel for a relaxing stay: The food is excellent, morning buffet, small soups and salads for lunch and cakes in the afternoon and the menu in the evenings- all is delicious and the staff really makes sure everybody gets to enjoy it as they take special nutrition into account (e.g. pregnancy, allergies,...). Children get special treatment too. The spa area is nice and especially the sauna area is spacious and very comfortable. Everybody is extremely friendly. A huge playground is only a 3mins walk from the hotel. The hotel doesn't specialise in kids but accommodates them with great care which makes it a great hotel for families who want to escape the noise and chaos of everyday life but do have a child/children and don't fancy a children's hotel. Fitness area and massage area is also clean and nice. We loved our much needed escape there and can recommend it highly to everyone who wants to relax and get rid of stress. Service: 5

It's relatively easy to find a wellness structure that takes care of your body, way more difficult is to find one that takes care of your vacation.Our stay at Vulkanlandhotel Legenstein (2 nights) has been mind-relaxing, spirit-recharging and body-restoring. All what you read about the family atmosphere is true. The hosts are excellent in what they're doing. The hotel is quite small (50-70 guests) and this makes the experience not too crowded.Also, congratulations to the kitchen for the excellent food they provide. Local ingredients are the basic of what they are doing and this enhances the out-of-the-city experience. Also the barman - whose politeness is funnily matched by a pretty judgmental look for any cocktail ordered before 4pm (understandable) - is great.Sure enough there are a couple of hiccups, the easiest to fix one are the mattresses, a bit too firm for our taste, but in general we felt perfectly treated and the Monday after that weekend is a bit less Monday than usual...see you soon!--- Update ---We came back after almost one year since the last stay: the hotel is still the gem that we remembered and we can't wait for coming back again.The spa area is clean and comfortable and it provides genuinely relaxing time. This time, we used the gym, that is small but well equipped. We also added a massage to the whole experience: it has been enjoyed almost as much as the note left in our bedroom by the management. Truly exceptional customer care. Another great point is related to the fact that the reception prepared a pre-filled check-in document, in order to speed up the process: it made a difference.Finally, we suspect Franz (the bartender) has something especially magical going on in his life, because he was particularly jolly and happy this time: we can't wait for tasting his cocktails (exceptional gin tonic) again!
