Finally got around to trying the place that so many of my friends and colleagues have been raving about, and it definitely lived up to the hype! The pork with noodles was absolutely outstanding. Such a simple dish, yet it was packed with flavor and incredibly satisfying. I'd easily rate the food 10/10. The service was just as impressive—friendly and efficient, another 10/10. The only downside is the atmosphere. The space is very small, with seating for around eight people at most, so it's more of an "eat and go" spot than somewhere to relax and linger. I'd give the atmosphere a 5/10. They were out of chicken when I visited, so the only options were pork and beef liver. Luckily, I love pork, so that wasn't an issue for me! Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm happy to have discovered another affordable ( Rs 150) and delicious place to eat in port louis.

Get here before 11.30am to savour the best pork rolls you will get in Mauritius. Juicy and perfectly spiced pork with onions in a crispy roll or the sweet tasting char sui pork chopped up in a roll. Both delicious, they also do chicken and both meats can be served with noodles instead. A few tables and chairs in a small room for inside dining. Must visit. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: Rs 1–200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Went to Roger Snack to get some crispy roast pork belly and char siu pork yesterday and was disappointed with a few things. 1. The guy chopping the pork doesn't wear gloves. Yes you can wash your hands and say it's clean, but proper handling of food requires wearing food grade gloves. And gloves are easily available and not expensive, so not wearing gloves is not a good thing. 2. The crispy roast pork belly was NOT crispy. In fact the skin was so hard I had to spit it out as it was inedible. That's a huge disappointment. 3. The char sui pork was overcooked and was hard. I've had char sui multiple times and know that the meat has to be tender but this was overcooked which resulted in its hard texture. Don't get swayed by the video on YouTube by a popular youtuber and think it's a great place. Unfortunately thats a "hype" video. If a snack bar serving food (meat) with an open window to the road doesn't take care to at least use gloves, then it's a clear indicator of neglect and carelessness or rather disregard of proper food and health regulations.
