Walked in served almost straight away prices reasonable few locals who there time to interact and make you feel comfortable just a shame its a bit hidden from the main roads but defo go again Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is a great pub . . . and it is a pub not some fancy place with extravagant prices. Simple, but good food. A wide choice of beers and very friendly punters and staff. Don't walk past! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

WEDDING RECEPTION - ORGANISED BLIND AND WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Lyndsey and Craig are absolutely fantastic people. We live in Hampshire and booked the royal bar for our wedding reception following or marriage at Gretna green. We had never been to the Royal Bar before hand, we actually found them via a google search and then fb. So prior to our wedding all contact was via email or telephone calls. They went out of the way to make our reception perfect! The seating area was decorated, areas were provided for the 6 dogs we had with us. The food cooked by Lyndsey and her team was out of this world! And the homemade sticky toffee pudding is the best I’ve ever tasted. To the point we ordered 36 portions to pick up and bring back to England following our holiday!!! Every single person who works at the Royal bar are so lovely, friendly, professional and welcoming. Even all the regulars came up to wish us congratulations. We wanted a family orientated reception with good food, atmosphere and most importantly somewhere our dogs could come. Craig and Lyndsey provided all of this and went above and beyond. In total we had 24 people at the meal and 6 dogs!! We cannot rate the Royal Bar High enough. If you want a professional, friendly and amazing service and experience look no further. We came to a pub as strangers for our reception and left with friends for life and our go to pub for food and laughs when ever we visit Scotland. 5 Stars isn’t enough for this pub! It needs 10+ at least. We are looking forward to Christmas and visiting again, and having more of Lyndsey’s famous out of this world Sticky Toffee Pudding!! They regularly have amazing live entertainment, and have a lovely seating area outside the back. Highly highly recommend visiting the amazing Royal Bar if you are visiting Scotland or live nearby and haven’t visited before.
