My partner and I were visiting, and thought we would try the food carts in Silverton. I found this place and was so happy because I am vegetarian, and love grilled cheese anything. I found a sandwich, but it had meat, so asked if they could do a veggie version. The owner came out and barked at me that "there was a veggie option", to which I replied there is not. It was a completely different sandwich. The young lady working the register was appaled that he was so rude, and quickly and softly so he wouldn't hear, apologized. I just turned and walked away because first its spendy, and second, I work hard for my money and simply refuse to put it towards an owner who simply doesnt care about his customers. When i walked away, he yelled "BYE" in a snotty, like a teenager throwing a fit way. I just giggled as I couldnt believe the interaction even happened. My partner was getting chicken at another food cart, and they heard him barking at me, and offered to give me a free sandwich because of it. Apparently, they were very used to this abusive owner. The young lady at the register chased my partner down and told her that she would have made the sandwich for me and she apologized profusely for his behavior. Hats off to this poor soul who is subjected to this abusive employer day after day. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A JERK, AND DON'T ALLOW HIM TO TREAT ANYONE THIS WAY. HE IS OBVIOUSLY AN ANGRY INDIVIDUAL AND SHOULD NOT BE IN A CUSTOMER SERVICE PROFESSION. Service: 1

The brisket sandwich that I ate was AWESOME. The bread was so crispy and seasoned well. The meat was well cooked and seasoned, and the portion size was okay for the price. With that being said, I don’t think I’m in the wrong to ask the cashier guy how big the sandwich is when they have the stones to ask $15.00 for a sandwich. When I asked this, the guy said, in quite a condescending tone “it’s sandwich sized”. I was surprised by this answer cause I was more interested in, I don’t know, the amount of meat? If it’s a whole or half sandwich? If it’s stacked well or not? I don’t know, maybe I’m over reacting, but I’d expect a bit more friendliness from someone who charges $15.00 for a sandwich and then turns his iPad around for a tip. To add insult to injury, I returned to the counter to ask for some napkins, and you’d have thought that I asked the lady to sacrifice her first born child. Again, not the end of the world, but just kind of stupid. At least the food was pretty good. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

We found The Rustic Melt today, and we are glad we did. I ordered the Mac and bacon loaded, and when I say it was the cheesiesiest, flavorful and most wonderful grilled cheese I've ever had, I mean it. The cheese stretch was awesome to see. My girlfriend had the turkey pear brie, and it was on the other side of the spectrum. Lighter and refreshing, but just as delicious. I will definitely have this place book marked for whenever we visit again.
