The food & menu choices are seriously subpar compared to other restaurants in local gated communities..like Village Walk in Bonita. Village Walk does a basic food menu & they do a great job. Why not just try a basic menu & first try to execute that, instead of trying to offer several fancy dishes that are loaded with msg & salt. Had friends visiting & they unfortunately tried the Fish Fryday, very overcooked & burnt. Chicken w/mushroom sauce very salty. Grouper dinner, asked for blackened, forgot the blackened, smallest piece of fish I've ever been served, maybe 3 oz. minnow. How about mastering the art of a basic Little Dipper sandwich, Turkey or Reuben sandwich. 1 sad little slice of pastrami, a lonely slice of turkey with wilted lettuce. We sent the Little Dipper French dip sandwich back & kitchen said they put 4 oz of meat on the sandwich. BBQ rib night MEH. The servers are friendly & try their best. (Per a former employee kitchen is too small to put out food in a timely fashion) The only pros are the relaxing views of the golf course & water, nice screened in seating. Restaurant could stand to be revamped, a little like an assisted living setting old furniture feel. Hampton Golf's Food & Beverage needs to step in & fix this problem. The Del Webb community & golfers deserve to have a good, decent restaurant. Only those with no taste buds can appreciate the food at the Rusty Putter.
