4 friends in town for Gympie Music Muster, dropped in for a quick lunch. Ordered from the glass cabinet 1 pie & 1 lasagne. Took 25 minutes for the pie to be heated and served, the lasagne took further 10 minutes. 2 of us ordered from the menu 1 karaage chicken burger & a buddha bowl, the burger took 45 mins and the buddha bowl an hour! We had planned on eating together, as one would expect. There were only 8 other dinners, 3 staff, of which 2 were standing talking most of the time. The waitress went to lunch with a hot meal, BEFORE the buddha bowl was delivered, we had to go collect it from the counter where it was left sitting going cold. Food was average. Won’t be back. Price per person: $20–40 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Waiting that length of time for meals and having your group receive their food at significantly different times, is certainly not the standard of service we aim to provide at Rusty Rails Café. Good service, lots of Gluten free options for my partner, my steak sandwich came with chips. The steak was tender and the sandwich held together which was great. The old railway station is a magnificent structure and outside seating is available on the platform under the massive awning, well worth a visit for breakfast or lunch. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Just had the most delicious lunch and the Rusty Rails cafe. The meals and coffee were great and the service from the staff is spot on. Even got to see the train pulling into the station . We will be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–40
