I’m honestly mad at myself for passing Salt for over a year and never stopping in! We finally went on a Wednesday to celebrate my cousin’s birthday, and from the minute we walked through the door, the experience was TOP TIER! The greeter at the front was professional, pleasant and so welcoming. Our entire party hadn’t arrived yet, so she explained that we would be seated once everyone was there and invited us to enjoy the bar in the meantime. And let me tell you the bartender was a whole vibe! Full of personality and energy. Even if you didn’t plan on having a cocktail, his energy alone was going to make you order one. Once our party arrived, we were seated right away and our server was an absolute sweetheart. Then the food came out hot, fresh, beautifully presented and DELICIOUS. We went during happy hour before the Wednesday night painting event, and the prices were so reasonable that we pretty much ordered our way through the menu just so everybody could taste different things. And nothing disappointed! But those lamb chops! Hands down some of the best I’ve had anywhere. They were lean, seasoned well, cooked perfectly and not covered in a bunch of fat. The sides were just as good. And I definitely can’t leave out the music! The DJ was on point! The music was great and added so much to the atmosphere. It was the perfect mix where you could enjoy yourself, vibe to the music and still enjoy the people you came with. Definitely another plus for us! We enjoyed the food so much, the chef actually came out, introduced himself and spoke with us, which made the experience even better. They also had a complimentary birthday booth on Wednesday, which was perfect since we were celebrating a birthday. What really impressed me, though, was the entire atmosphere. The place was **clean, inviting and well put together and everyone we encountered was friendly and professional. You can tell there’s an effort being made to give people a great experience, not just serve food and drinks. We literally wanted to go back the NEXT DAY, but unfortunately work said otherwise. So that should tell you everything! Salt has officially made our list of places we’ll be visiting regularly, and now we can’t wait to come back and try the brunch. If you’ve been passing this place like I was, STOP PASSING IT. Go inside! Great food, great service, great drinks, great music, great atmosphere and reasonable prices. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back. So overall I give Salt Bar & Bistro a 6 out of 10. First of all the environment is so cute and definitely a vibe. The fire dancers were AWESOME they brought a new vibe to Memphis. My partner and I ordered the crab cakes and they were delicious, we just hoped for 4 instead of 3 for $12. The things I didn’t like were as follows: 1 I asked for two lemon drop drinks and strawberry hennys & it came back tasting like WHO knows what ? When I asked to take it off my ticket and just replace them with two more strawberry hennys, the head bottle girl claimed they would make it better instead of taking it off. And guess what…. THEY DIDN’T! The bar advertisement is for 25 and up type but they only played 40+ music. Not saying that’s a bad thing but a little variety would have set it off. Good place just need a little more tweaks.
