The service at the restaurant on Mother’s Day was not good for my family and I. Our food was served either cold or burnt and did not taste it right. We waited almost an hour and a half to get all of our food. He would ask the waitress for certain things and still waited so long. It seems like the restaurant was not prepared to have many people there. When the manager knew about the situation we were in he had an attitude and didn’t give any sympathy for our experience at his restaurant. beside all that the manager, he had a very bad attitude Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $100+ Recommended dishes: Chicken Cream Chop Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Vegetarian options: No Dietary restrictions: Some

We visited Sahara in Oak Park for Mother’s Day, and despite the house being absolutely packed, the experience was fantastic. Even with the holiday rush, the food was amazing and came out tasting fresh and delicious. What really stood out was the service the staff handled the busy crowd with total grace. The managers were incredibly friendly and made a point to constantly check on our table to ensure we had everything we need. It’s rare to find a place that maintains such high standards and a welcoming atmosphere when they are that busy. Everything was great, and we will definitely be back! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chicken Shawarma, Hummus, Chop, Dressing

Surprised at how big the space is when I first walked in. Huge! No greeting was forthcoming as all the staff was behind the counter across restaurant. I needed to wash up so I headed to the restroom first, clear in the opposite corner from the door. When I finished, I had to go to the counter and ask where they wanted me to sit. (There was only one other table occupied just after 1 p.m.) I picked a spot nearby and parked followed by a woman bringing water, utensils & the menu. Sadly, I picked a spot under a blown out speaker and got to listen to dissonant noise for 30+ minutes. After a while it was less jarring but the other sounds in places were, at times, fairly loud: plates on counters/tables, utensils dropped, etc. No kitchen noise, though. I can only imagine the volume if it were packed. Ordered my sandwich, a Chicken Tika. It was very good. Tasty, juicy with big chunks of meat. Yum. Entrees seem a bit pricey compared to most other places I've been but the sandwiches were more in-line. Salads, too. There are some dishes I've not seen elsewhere but for these prices, I doubt I'd come back for dinner.
