Our first visit will also be our last. Unfortunately, almost every part of the experience missed the mark, especially given the prices. Service was slow and inattentive from the start. We waited about 15 minutes without a server before finally flagging someone down. When my wife ordered a bottle of Sancerre, we were surprised to learn that all three of the lower-priced options were sold out, leaving only a bottle well over $100. The food was the biggest disappointment. The French onion gratinée was nearly inedible, the cheese tasted off, and the broth was thin, greasy, and overly sharp, as if the wine hadn’t been properly reduced. The steak was also tough, overcooked, and lacked flavor. For what we ordered, three appetizers, four entrées, a bottle of wine, a pint, two cocktails, and a Pepsi, the bill came to over $500. Charging for fountain refills at that price point felt unnecessarily pretentious and only added to the frustration. Overall, the combination of poor service, disappointing food, and high prices made this an experience we won’t be repeating. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Just up the road from another Rowayton Seafood which is another favorite of mine right on Long Island Sound. Sails American Grill has a nice menu and features entertainment on some weekend nights.
