For Mother's Day - My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Sampa, a Filipino-American restaurant by Chef Josh Espinosa, for a special Mother's Day lunch. This experience was nothing short of WOW! showcasing the chef's exceptional talent in blending Filipino and American cuisines. Our culinary adventure began with the Kare-Kare Tamales. The rich, peanut-flavored sauce, a staple of traditional Kare-Kare, was ingeniously combined with tamales, offering a delightful twist that set the tone for the meal. Next, we indulged in the Lechon Fried Rice. This dish was a symphony of flavors, with perfectly crispy pork, aromatic rice, and a balanced mix of seasonings that transported us straight to the heart of the Philippines. The Crispy Duck Pancit was another standout. The duck was impeccably crispy yet tender, and the pancit noodles were cooked to perfection, absorbing the savory goodness of the dish. The Pasta Palabok was a fantastic fusion dish, presenting the familiar flavors of palabok with a delightful pasta twist, rich in flavor and texture. For our other dish, we had the Short Rib Bistek Benedict. This dish was a creative masterpiece, combining the classic Filipino bistek flavors with the elegance of a benedict. The short ribs were succulent, and the hollandaise sauce added a rich, creamy layer to the dish. Our meal concluded with the Taho Creme Brulee, a dessert so exquisite that we wished it was a regular menu item. The creamy taho with the crispy caramelized sugar top was the perfect ending to our feast, leaving us all craving for more. While a couple of our dishes arrived not as expected, the attentive staff and accommodating manager promptly addressed the issue, ensuring our overall experience remained delightful. Their excellent service, combined with the culinary brilliance of Chef Josh Espinosa, made our Mother's Day lunch a memorable celebration. We left Sampa with our hearts and stomachs full, eager to return and explore more of the menu. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience a unique and flavorful fusion of Filipino and American cuisines.

VERY clean and chill vibe here. Was excited to try this place with my group of girls for a birthday. Mainly excited because it was a modern Filipino fusion type of restaurant. We had tried every single dish on the menu, and everything was disappointing. Pasta palabok flavors were just confusing, it tasted and had the texture of hargow shu mai with some type of sauce on top. The cauliflower tasted like Panda Express Orange chicken with cauliflower. Duck pancit was prolly the worse dish. Duck was terrible. Everything was just not satisfying and whatever. Nothing out of this world. Ube cheesecake was good! Would not return, and makes you miss the simple traditional Filipino dishes

I had to try it once to have an opinion and after dinner with the family, it was overall underwhelming and overrated. Servers were friendly but the food was not so flavorful. Though the presentation was top-notch. The bamboo shoots and ceviche were the winners! The main dishes were disappointingly bland. Luckily, the Ube cheesecake made the meal end well. Wine selection was non-existent. Only one kind of red blend wine and again very disappointing. Ambiance... black, black, black. The open kitchen was great as you walked in and that was the highlight.
