My wife and I came here as part of a group food tour with Big Foody. Kat was our guide and she called ahead to let them know a vegetarian (me) was among the group. We were presented with several small plates and luckily, I had the carrots on a bed of mole that I didn’t have to share with anyone (though I gave some to my wife to taste). I will be thinking about that mole for a long, long time. It was rich, smoky, complex and immensely flavorful. It was everything a mole should be. We also had the cabbage. Usually, cabbage is a nondescript dish. This was the best cabbage I’ve ever had. The next time I’m in Auckland, I’m coming back for that mole. It was only by a sheer act of will that I didn’t pick up the plate and lick it clean! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch

Cozy little restaurant with an extensive selection of wines and beers, and excellent nibbles. The staff were incredibly friendly and all the dishes they recommended were tasty and filling for a solo diner. I went for dinner and highly recommend the venison tartare and the roasted carrots with the molé. The lovely staff (I'm very sorry, I didn't get your name!) was also amazing and surprised me with a birthday dessert, which was delicious. I will be dreaming about that chocolate mousse. Thank you, San Ray, for a lovely little dinner! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
