I recently visited Sanchez in Hammana (located at Midane Square the charming old souk of the town) and had a fantastic experience. The Mexican food was pretty good well seasoned , with dishes like tacos, quesadillas, and burritos offering fresh, bold flavors. The vibrant Mexican vibes really set the tone . The setting felt lively and welcoming, perfectly matching the menu’s spirit. I felt like I was transported to a taqueria, even up in the mountains of Lebanon . The staff were attentive, friendly, and added to the warm atmosphere without being intrusive. If you're exploring Hammana’s souk or craving a twist from the usual Lebanese fare, Sanchez is a delightful stop. Their flavorful Mexican dishes delivered a satisfying experience unique for this area and well worth a visit. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Following the owner's reply to my original rating, I feel the need to clarify that my review is based on the exact same issue highlighted in his response - an inability to take feedback. During our visit, we were asked if everything was okay, and we shared that we didn’t like the Caesar salad. It was a matter of personal taste, based on our experience with Caesar salads elsewhere. Instead of simply acknowledging our feedback, the owner felt the need to explain that their recipe was based on the “original from the internet,” which is fine - but not necessary. Despite us saying twice that we didn’t want a replacement, he insisted and sent us off with a kale shrimp salad in a takeaway box - which we also didn’t want. This felt disrespectful of our wishes and consistent with the defensiveness shown in his public reply. In terms of food: the tacos were average and nothing memorable. The margaritas tasted more like lemon juice than a proper cocktail. The service staff were polite, and there was no wait time - but the atmosphere and food fell short of expectations. I'm truly sorry to hear that your visit to our restaurant was upsetting for you. It sounds like you were having a difficult time with each other, and we regret that your experience with us coincided with that. We also noticed that you ate all of your food and took the remaining shrimp kale salad, which was a gift from us. We never want our guests to leave unhappy, and we're truly sorry that you felt the need to give us a one-star review. We hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future under happier circumstances.
