Sammarco is one of those restaurants in Toronto that really impressed me. Everything felt thoughtful without being overly complicated. The beef tartare was excellent, especially with the egg and anchovy on top — rich, salty and perfectly balanced. The egg pasta was another standout: simple, delicate and packed with flavor. We also had the veal sweetbreads, which were beautifully cooked and paired with a really flavorful sauce. Overall, a fantastic meal with great ingredients and execution. Definitely a spot I’d come back to next time I’m in Toronto. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $100+

Sammarco is a beautiful restaurant with a refined atmosphere, and the food was excellent from start to finish. The filet was cooked perfectly, the seafood dishes were outstanding, and dessert was fresh, creative, and a great finish to the meal. Everything tasted high quality and was beautifully presented. The only downside is the price. It’s definitely one of the more expensive steakhouses in Toronto, so be prepared for that. My other complaint is the side selection. Every classic steakhouse should offer a traditional baked potato, and I was surprised it wasn’t on the menu. Sometimes the classics don’t need reinventing. Overall, an excellent dining experience with fantastic food and a great atmosphere. I’d definitely come back, but I’d love to see a few more traditional steakhouse sides added to the menu.
