Fuimos a parar ahí sobre sugerencia de un persona local, al no encontrar mesa en el restaurante donde queríamos cenar. La comida estaba buena, el personal atento y los precios correctos. La terraza es preciosa. Como segunda opción no nos pudimos quejar.

La comida es muy muy buena, lo mejor que he comido en Rovinj. El Beefstake es de la primera clase. Personal es muy amable y profesional.

Restaurant Santa Roma RovinjDisappointing Experience This is the first 1-star review I have ever given,m and it is written as constructive criticism rather than a complaint. We have been travelling throughout Croatia for six weeks, eating out for every meal and have experienced some amazing food and hospitality. Unfortunately, our experience at Santa Roma Rovinj was very disappointing. The restaurant presents itself with large, impressive-looking plates but unfortunately the food did not match the presentation. The flavours were underwhelming, lacking seasoning and the quality we have come to expect during our travels. We ordered a Šopska salata, one of our favourite Croatian salads. Unfortunately, it was missing what we consider a key ingredientthe onion/shallots and there were only around five small cubes of feta on top. When my wife politely asked how this could be presented and charged as a Šopska salata without the onion, we were told that “they don’t add it to theirs” and that it was acceptable because “it’s not in the picture on the menu”. That response was very disappointing. We also ordered the Crni Rižot (cuttlefish risotto), which was our ninth one during this trip. We were asked if we wanted Parmesan, which was unusual as this dish normally relies on the natural depth, umami and flavour of the cuttlefish meat. Sadly, this version was watery, bland and under-seasoned and we were left wondering where the pieces of cuttlefish meat were. The service itself was acceptable initially but after our plates were cleared, with the risotto still more than half full, nobody came to ask if we wanted another drink, a dessert menu, or anything else. A missed opportunity, especially when good hospitality and upselling are such important parts of a dining experience. Being located in a quieter back lane while the waterfront restaurants were overflowing with customers, the food should be the reason people seek you out. Unfortunately, for us, it was the weakest part of the experience. The Coke was a Coke, and the coffee was good but the meal itself did not deliver. We genuinely hope this feedback is taken in the spirit intended, because after being in Rovinj for the past 5 days and with so many fantastic restaurants, this is our first under 5 star review and we want every local business to succeed.
