Primera vez que saboreo comida hindú con tan exquisitos sabores, muy bien lograda la mezcla de especias, cada plato con sus condimentos específicos. El pani puri para empezar es un explosión de sabores en la boca. Felicitaciones. Muy recomendable. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $60–80

great experience, curries were delicious as well as the squid. had a catch up w some workmates and they gave us a complimentary dessert (sticky date pudding) which was incredibly tasty, definitely coming back. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–40

WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE – Hostile Management & Physical Aggression I rarely feel compelled to write a public warning, but our experience at Sauma was beyond unacceptable—it was alarming, unprofessional, and ultimately abusive. What was meant to be a birthday celebration ended with our group being insulted, intimidated, and ordered to leave by the owner himself. The Service: A Total Failure From the moment we arrived, the service was nonexistent. We were not even offered water for the first 30 minutes. No waitress appeared to be assigned to our table, and we repeatedly had to wave staff down just to be acknowledged. When we finally managed to place an order, the experience was maddening. The waitress displayed a clear attitude, repeatedly asking us to repeat ourselves because of a significant language barrier; she simply could not understand basic English or the most straightforward requests. It was exhausting and humiliating to have to repeat our orders incessantly only to be met with irritation rather than competence. To top off the "ambiance," my Manhattan arrived with a fly in the drink and had to be sent back. The Food: Overpriced, Incorrect, and Dangerous Food service was completely disjointed. Two meals arrived after 30 minutes, while the rest of the table waited over an hour. By 9:00 PM, we were still missing dishes. The "Biryani": As someone from a background where biryani is a staple, this was unrecognizable. It was essentially a quarter chicken placed on rice—like something from a charcoal chicken shop. There was no explanation on the menu that this was their "interpretation." Most importantly, the chicken was undercooked. I did not eat the meal as it was unsafe to do so. Dismissive Staff: When I politely asked how much longer the food would be, the waitress claimed she "couldn’t understand English" (unbelievable), so another staff member was brought over only to dismiss the concern with: “Food is coming, just wait.” It took another 15 minutes. It was nearly 9:30pm by this point. The Owner: Gups Bagga’s Hostility Hoping to resolve this privately, I asked to speak with the manager to provide constructive feedback. Instead of professionalism, the owner, Gups Bagga, met us with immediate defensiveness. Despite our group (a table of lawyers and doctors) speaking respectfully, he escalated the situation by accusing us of trying to get a “free meal.” The situation turned truly volatile when he: 1. Snatched a phone out of my friend’s hand as she attempted to document his aggressive conduct to report to the police. 2. Abused us the entire way out of the restaurant, creating a public spectacle. 3. Filmed and photographed us without our consent as we were forced to leave so we had to escape this horror. Final Verdict Poor service can sometimes be forgiven. Slow food can be understood on a busy night. But dismissive staff, undercooked food, a total lack of accountability, and physical aggression from management are inexcusable. Gups Bagga is a man-child with an ego larger than his body, completely unable to handle even the most courteous and respectful constructive feedback. I have reported the owner's criminal conduct to the Police. Save your money and your safety—go elsewhere. Sauma lacks the authenticity, food safety, and basic human decency required to remain in business. Please do not raise any polite constructive feedback to management, particularly Gups Bagga as you may risk being a victim of assault and threats yourself. Write a review on google instead. I have spoken to a number of freinds and collegue about this incident and there are other victims who should come forward and report Gurps and this establishment so that it is properly investigated and he faces serious consequences for his total unprofessional conduct towards his patrons. See the pictures of evidence including the ironic post the Chef and Owner Gurps Bagga has made on Facebook regarding condemning violence against women.. maybe practice what you preach as we were 5 female victims of your disgusting violent behaviour.
